FRAME ASSEMBLY
Constructed from heavy steel plate with integral full width bumpers welded in place for maximum strength and protection of the vehicles under carriage both on and off the rail.
ENGINE
Industrial, 6-cylinder, 4-cycle Turbocharged Electronic Cummins diesel, with 174 BHP @ 2,200 RPM for the most available performance with minimal noise levels and less vibration. Tier III compliant. 40 gallon fuel tank with electric gauge is standard.
AIR CLEANER
2-Stage with replaceable element for easy service and increase engine protection.
TRANSMISSION
Industrial, power shift, 4-speeds forward, 4-speeds reverse, with clutches that are fully modulated, oil cooled, multidisc, hydraulic actuated, and self-adjusting. Automatic shift feature is standard.
TRANSMISSION COOLER
Large oil cooler to prevent loss of horsepower to heat to increase performance and longer life of the transmission.
RAIL AXLE
Industrial internal planetary axle with inboard multiple wet disc brakes for long life and minimal maintenance.
RAIL WHEELS
28 inch heat-treated cast steel with extra hard flanges for longer life.The rail wheel mounting allows ease of removal and rotation without a hydraulic press or other special tools.Standard AAR taper.
ROAD WHEELS
16 ply, 12-00:20 current production hard rock lug for improved traction, stability, and reasonable replacement cost.
ROAD DRIVE
Friction drive from Rail Axle for positive smooth traction and performance.Does not require special tires.
POWER STEERING
Hydrostatic steering through an orbitrol control allowing the tightest turning radius available.
HYDRAULIC SYSTEM
Variable displacement pressure compensating pump minimizing heat build up and premature failure.
COUPLERS (PATENTED)
Cushion coupler system includes two weight transfer couplers made from fabricated steel plate.The system requires no rollers and no castings.Couplers move on self lubricating, nylon bearing material.
SANDING SYSTEM
Eight air operated sanders; two easy clean sand tubes for each rail wheel front and rear for the maximum tractive effort.Sand boxes are constructed from stainless steel for long life.
LIGHTING SYSTEM
Front and rear adjustable halogen head lights, front and rear stop tail lights, one amber flashing light, two track lights, coupler lights.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Mil. spec wiring with separate fused circuits.All wires are stamped at regular intervals and have sufficient length for relugging without splicing.All markings are legible and free of paint.A 100 amp hour alternator is standard.
CAB ASSEMBLY
Dual direction cab with the 3 point Mount Royal Glide System which includes dual seats, dual controls, front & rear wipers, heater, two defrost fans, and engine alert warning system.An optional full width cab includes two swivel seats, dual controls, front & rear wipers, heater, two defrost fans, and engine alert warning system.The cab floor is flush with threshold to prevent moisture retention and facilitate easy cleaning.
